Challenges and opportunities for Chinese companies in Europe

On November 27, 2014, at the invitation of University of St. Gallen, Switzerland, one of the famous economic universities in Europe, Mr. Bi Hua, CEO of Fenmei Packaging, delivered a keynote speech on "Opportunities and Challenges of Chinese Enterprises in Europe". HSG students, teachers and business people attended the meeting, and Mr. Bi Hua also had in-depth communication and discussion with the participants on the market environment, job opportunities and work culture of China and Europe.

In his speech, Mr. Bi Hua introduced the situation of Fenmei Packaging investing in Swiss companies and German factories, pointing out that Fenmei Packaging, as a Chinese private enterprise that has entered the European market, faces short-term challenges, especially for Greenland investment companies and private brand operating companies, there are more difficulties. At the same time, Europe's open market environment, high-quality employees and international supply chain systems also contain huge market opportunities. At the seminar, entrepreneurs from China and Switzerland not only shared the win-win situation between China and Europe, but also included differences. However, broadening the breadth of communication and winning more understanding and support is an important lesson that Chinese companies must do to enter the European market.

Fonmei Packaging originated in China, breaking the long-term monopoly pattern of the liquid food sterile packaging industry in China, contributing important driving force in promoting a healthy and orderly market competition environment, and creating practical value for food companies and consumers. In Europe, Fenmei Packaging also has such ambitions and continues to use the concept of "choose to create value" to bring tangible business choices and benefits to more food companies and consumers.

In the subsequent discussion session, Mr. Bi Hua introduced China, a rapidly developing economy, as well as the hardworking and modest work style of the Chinese, to HSG teachers and students, and invited HSG students to join Fenmei and join "Beautiful China" (affiliated with the Beijing Leading Future Foundation) to work hard to create a fair and beautiful tomorrow.
HSG is a comprehensive university dominated by economics, law and sociology. Founded in 1898, it is one of the very famous economic universities in Europe. It holds special exchange activities every year with China and the economy as the theme. The school’s Master in Management program ranks among the top in the 2014 Financial Times ranking of Master in Management.
