Mr. Bi Hua, CEO of Fenmei Packaging, won the "Environmental Contribution Award"

In November 2014, Mr. Bi Hua, CEO of Fenmei Packaging, a supplier of liquid food sterile packaging rolls, won the 2014 Environmental Efforts Award, which was awarded by SEN (Social Engagement Network), a subsidiary of YPO (Young President's Organization). YPO is a non-profit organization that brings together young business leaders around the world. Its members improve their leadership through learning and communication.

Mr. Bi Hua won this award due to his outstanding performance and leading role in the application of sustainable forest certified products in the liquid food sterile packaging industry. Since its establishment in 2003, Fonmei Packaging has insisted on using cardboard raw materials derived from the chain of custody certification of the three sustainable forest systems, including the FSC (Forest Management Committee), PEFC (Forest Certification System Accreditation Program) and SFI (Responsible Forest Resources Procurement) systems. Fonmei Packaging's global factories adopt a sustainable certified cardboard ratio of up to 75%, and the proportion of use in European factories is higher. At the same time, under the leadership of Mr. Bi Hua, Fenmei Packaging has also established a product traceability system to ensure that consumers can trace the source of Fenmei Packaging's materials.

Mr. Bi Hua said that the motivation for insisting on using sustainable development raw materials comes from his son. "In 1999, when I was still working in Tetra Pak, one day when I got home from get off work, my 6-year-old son said something that touched me deeply. He said: 'Dad, your job is too bad. You use a lot of paper. The teacher said that paper is made of trees. You cut down trees and caused great harm to the environment.'"

"So, in order to become a good person in my son's heart and to ensure that the trees still exist in the generation of my son and grandson, when I first founded Funmei Packaging, I was determined to keep my promise to my children and do something for the sustainable development of the earth's environment. Although it is not easy for an entrepreneurial company, we have paid a great price for it, and even it was difficult to sustain. But we still gritted our teeth and persevered. As it turned out, this persistence was worth it and meaningful." Mr. Bi Hua said with confidence.

Awards SEN (Social Engagement Network) connects YPO members with charity, humanitarianism and social responsibility.
